You read that right. There are not only ski passes but also summer passes. And with such a pass, you can move freely around the Aletsch Arena, just as you would with a ski pass. After all, autumn is just around the corner. The summer of 2026 was quite long, marked by unrelenting heat. But September brings back that wonderful time when you can enjoy being active outdoors without constantly needing to cool off. It is the perfect time to savor the mountain weather—whether you are equipped for hiking or biking. There are passes available for both activities.

Aletsch Explorer Pass

An excellent option for your hiking holiday, as it is valid from Brig main station all the way to the valley stations for Riederalp, Bettmeralp, and Fiescheralp. You can use the same pass to travel up to the respective alpine village, and from there, utilize the "Explorer Pass" to access the mountain stations for hiking and reach spectacular viewpoints.

For example, a one-week pass costs CHF 145 for two people with a Half-Fare travelcard, and CHF 290 for a family of four with two children under the age of 20. It is slightly cheaper if you hold a General Abonnement (GA). You can book the Aletsch Explorer Pass directly via the Aletsch Arena shop.

The Aletsch Bike Pass

The Aletsch Bike Pass is another attractive option, valid from Brig railway station up to the mountain stations at Riederalp, Bettmeralp, and Fiescheralp. The permitted feeder lifts on the Aletsch Plateau are those that provide access to the trails. A week of riding fun costs CHF 142.50 per person with a Half-Fare travelcard, while a family ticket costs CHF 430. You can also purchase the bike pass via the Aletsch Arena shop. If, for any reason, you are unable to obtain the pass in advance, Aletsch Arena will reimburse the cost of the ticket from Brig onwards. Please also take note of the Matterhorn Gotthard Bahn’s regulations regarding bicycle transport.
