11 days left - The countdown is on
And then you run for all you're worth. As every year, the Aletsch Half Marathon takes place over 21.1 kilometres. What makes the running route so interesting is - how could it be otherwise? - the view. I don't know how well you can still enjoy the view of the glacier and the Alps while running. But not every marathon offers magnificent views, that's for sure.
Saturday is family run
On Saturday at 2 p.m., the youth race begins with the Aletsch Run over a distance of 2.7 km. This is followed half an hour later by the glacier run for those born between 2012 and 2015 over 2 km. The mini run for the under-tens starts at 3 pm, which also gives parents the opportunity to mentally support their offspring by running along. As the running distances for teenagers and children are not as long, it is a taster for parents to see what a marathon feels like and whether they would like to consider it themselves. In any case, it is a strengthening measure to do something together as a family and perhaps a joint family project for the future.
Sunday is half marathon
Entry fee already paid? The Aletsch Run starts at 10 a.m. and even Nordic walkers can take part. Anyone aged between 20 and 70 plus can take part. You can find the programme here and don't forget to Registration for choose your race.
Entertainment programme for spectators
Among other things, festival restaurants with live music on the Moosfluh and Bettmerhorn as well as at the Bachtla sports centre guarantee a good time. And don't forget to visit the hotspots and cheer on the runners.
