Biken in Oberwallis

Since it's still early for the summer season and I mentioned the Tour de Suisse event in my last post, I'd like to write something about biking in the Upper Valais. I think a mountain bike trail is also an exciting leisure activity. And short holidays that offer an adventure enrich life.

The Stoneman-Glaciara Trail

The mountain bike season starts this coming weekend and in the Valais there is a really exciting offer to go with it. The Stoneman-Glaciara-Trail is a special MTB trail that can be completed in one day or in up to 3 stages. The interesting thing about it is that on the trail you pass the Moosfluh with a view of the impressive Aletsch glacier and of course you also have a view of most of the 4000-metre peaks along the way. On the stages, you pass not only the historic Maiensässe but also beautiful Valais mountain villages. Of course, the route is completely signposted.

Spend the night on the Aletsch Glacier

Conveniently, you stay overnight directly on the route, which means you get on your bike right in front of your holiday home. So why not book a holiday flat in Bettmeralp and Riederalp and cycle a stage every day? When your stage is completed, you hop on the bus, train or mountain railway and have your bike brought back to your holiday home. You can simply enjoy the view more at altitude.

Flow trail Wurzenbord on Bettmeralp

The family isn't big on wild downhill runs? Then just stay in the Aletsch Arena. The Flowtrail Wurzenbord is a 3 km long alpine trail. Maybe give it a try? Or the Bike-Kidstrack-Bettmeralp is something for children. Take a look at Aletsch Arena Mountainbiken Aletsch Arena Mountainbikingwhere you will find all levels of difficulty from easy to difficult.

Pass or starter package as a gift idea

Need another reason for a holiday? Then why not give one of the offers as a gift to your spouse, partner, father, brother or whoever is close to your heart.
