Bike trails in Upper Valais
Bike trails are athletic challenges, and they're best met with good riding technique. You, too, need to learn to brake in good time, check the curves in advance, develop a feel for the gradient, and choose the right gear to relieve muscle strain. So where can you practice?
Test new trails in Upper Valais
With the UIC MTB WM in Valais starting in early September 2025, every passionate mountain biker is in the mood to test out a few trails themselves. Or do you think otherwise? Five regions in the Upper Valais ski resorts have come up with a solution and joined forces to offer a bike pass.
Bike fun with the Bike Pass
In addition to the existing season ticket, a new 3-day pass is now available. You can book the Bike Pass at the Aletsch Bahnen. Please note that the bike pass must be used on three consecutive days and not on any three days during your stay. The valid regions and prices for infants to adults can be found on the Oberwalliser Bikepass website.
Fair play rules for mountain biking
Every sport involves responsibility for yourself and others. This means calculating risks and inspecting the trail beforehand. While biking, keep an eye out for pedestrians and also be considerate of nature. So stay on the trail, especially during the day. No, hunting and forestry closures are not meant for moshing. Don't forget your protective gear and service your bike regularly. And remember: a crash lasts 0.5 to 1.5 seconds.
