Hiking on eternal ice
Hiking on different paths. I'm thinking of gorges that offer deep glimpses into the depths below. A path just wide enough that you don't give it a second thought. Or you simply don't look down, and that works too. What about spectacular views where you are?
Guided tour across the Aletsch Glacier
I'd love to do this tour sometime. My knees just can't handle a six-hour hike. So, unfortunately, I'll have to pass. I think the price of 99 CHF per person is reasonable. After all, you get what you pay for. The walk to the Katzenlöcher (Cat Holes) alone, with its constant view of the Aletsch Glacier, is phenomenal.
So, if I were able to do a day trip, I would ask for it as a gift. Do you already have an idea of what you'd like to give for your next wedding anniversary? You see, a glacier tour would be such a gift. That way you'd have a shared experience and a lasting memory of a spectacular day.
Information about the glacier tour:
Currently, the guided tours take place daily. The meeting point is at 8:15 a.m. at the public transport hub (Volken Sport) in Fiesch. A minimum of 6 people are required to participate; registration is necessary no later than the day before. Equipment and further details are available at the Aletsch Mountaineering Center.
