You don't like long walks? Rather according to the motto: brevity is the spice. Then I recommend my personal winter hiking trail to you when I have guests from Germany. Start at the Bettmeralp mountain station and walk towards Riederalp along the Aletsch promenade. The path runs comfortably between holiday chalets and also a few restaurants with a super view of the Valais mountains. Blue sky and a view of the Matterhorn!

Uphill and downhill

Am Ende der Promenade gelangt man zu einer Art Kreuzung, linkerhand sieht man das Dorf Riederalp, aber Sie biegen rechts ab und folgen dem Winterwanderweg Richtung Egga. Am Waldesrand entlang geht es bergauf, für Ungeübte ist es wohl eher etwas anspruchsvoller. Hat man die Anhöhe erreicht, überquert man die Piste unter der Seilbahn hindurch und läuft wieder Richtung Bettmeralp, das winterliche Dorf im Blick. Geniessen Sie während des Wanderns die Aussicht auf Bettmerhorn, Wurzenbord und die Gommer Berge. Sie passieren dann die Kabinenstation, die man zum Bettmerhorn nimmt.

Take a break at the Q-Stall or at the end in the café

Ein guter Treffpunkt, um mit dem skifahrenden Teil der Familie zusammenzukommen. Bei schönem Wetter nehmen Sie draussen am Q-Stall ein Apéro oder laufen wieder zurück ins Dorf. (Am Q-Stall befindet sich auch das indoor swimmingpool Bachtla is also located at the Q-Stall, by the way.) Now follow the path downhill towards the village. At the end of the road you will reach the main road again. There the hike ends with coffee and cake on the right at the bakery Imhof on the terrace. Wonderful!
