Winter in Valais

A winter with little snow, that's what they say... Fortunately, the Valais can't complain. Snow fun is the order of the day, just like every winter! Ok, but sledging does have a few restrictions. The toboggan run from the Moosfluh mountain station of the Aletsch Arena is unfortunately not open. Never mind! There is an alternative from 2 February 2023, namely the Gopplerlücke toboggan run on Riederalp. How do you get there? Either you combine it partly with a leisurely winter hike or you use the chairlift Blausee from Bettmerdorf.

Sledging and rules

Sledging is fun. However, you have to follow a few rules, such as adapting your style to the weather conditions, the terrain and the people riding with you. To avoid accidents, please ride sitting down and overtake at a distance. And dress warmly. Depending on the speed, it starts to draft.

Sledge hire in Riederalp and Bettmeralp

Markus Kranzfelder is happy to offer children's sledges for hire and will also bring them to the holiday flat. Otherwise, sledges are available from Aletschsport on Riederalp or Mattig Sport on Bettmeralp.
