Snowshoe tour winter hiking trail 201

Yes, there's snow again this year. It's powdery at the moment. And with sunshine, it's a lot of fun. That's why, like so many other Swiss people, we spent last Sunday out in nature and went on a snowshoe tour. And we were richly rewarded with a lot of subjects.

Winter hiking trail 201

We started at the car park in Betten Dorf. This is the intermediate station of the Betten - Bettmeralp gondola lift. If you look at the Aletsch Arena piste map, this is the winter hiking trail 201 Bettmeralp - Domo - Egga - Betten Dorf. It is easy to manage from Bettmeralp to the Betten Dorf gondola station, as it is all downhill. Then you get back on the cable car towards Bettmeralp. We walked part of this route in the opposite direction.

Enjoy the peace and quiet in the snow

I personally recommend running this route right now, because it hasn't been groomed yet. And where no one has been yet, it's quieter. After all, it's well known that snowshoes make more noise after an icy night. Instead, you want to savour the peace and quiet, because you can barely hear the freshly fallen snow. Can you also hear the silence? Listening to silence is a simple way to slow down.

Use the route for sledging

This trail is also very suitable for tobogganing in a good winter. Because it's so nice and long. And because it offers such a beautiful view. And because it has such beautiful subjects to photograph. Do you notice it? I'm delighted with this route. A real feel-good corner! Happiness in a winter wonderland.
