Extended walk in Golmenegg

Do you feel the same way? One half of the family wants to go skiing as soon as they arrive. The other half needs a little more time to acclimatize. Maybe go for a walk, enjoy the view or soak up the silence in the evening. Get in the mood for the week's vacation. There are beautiful spots in the Aletsch region for this too. The Golmenegg on the Riederalp, for example. If you google it, the tour is listed as winter hike If fresh snow has fallen, a snowshoe hike is also a good option.

A walk to relax

However, I would describe an hour and a half as an extended walk. That's a walk after lunch or in bad weather. Or after the journey, when everything is unpacked and you want to move around a bit after all that sitting in the car or on the train. The route is also great for walking with children or the dog.

Part of the route runs along the Aletsch Promenade

You can do the walk from Bettmeralp or from Riederalp. From Bettmeralp, walk along the Aletschpromenade to the Restaurant Adler. The walk starts opposite there, on the valley side. Or from Riederalp you can walk in the direction of the Aletschpromenade to the Golmenegg and turn right at the containers. The circular trail is signposted and has little public traffic, but is adorned with beautiful Valais houses and offers views of the Valais mountains.
