Paragliding and being free
Paragliding as a passenger
Have you ever flown with a paraglider? I haven't yet, although I would be interested in doing so. I love birds and enjoy admiring their flying skills. In the Valais, at any time of the year, you can watch the mountain jackdaws take advantage of the thermals and circle higher and higher in a flock. It must be a feeling of freedom par excellence to do the same with a paraglider and float freely in the air. And not only that: looking at the Valais Alps from above is also something I imagine to be very impressive. Seeing everything from a different perspective: Glaciers, mountains, valleys. Maybe soaring up with the mountain daws and floating along with them.
Tandem flights for adults and children
So if you are on holiday in the Aletsch region and you can say that you are a brave person, then why not try a tandem flight? You will find providers for passenger flights in the Upper Valais based in Fieschertal. Take-off sites are available on all the alps in the Aletsch Arena, which means you don't have to drive all the way to Fieschertal. The flights on offer range from 15 minutes to three quarters of an hour. In fact, there are even offers for kids from the age of 4. Prices and further information can be found on the Aletsch Arena website. Courage rises with opportunity, Shakespeare said. From a sporting point of view, the Aletsch mountain region offers plenty of opportunities.
