As I can see both Riederalp and Bettmeralp from my flat window, I can only say: marvellous!<\/p>\n<p>I don't know about you, but November is a rather boring month for me. Not fish, not meat. Still autumn, but already halfway through winter. What do you do at this time of year? Just as May is called the month of joy, November is a quiet month for me. The sports facilities go into overhaul, as do people. If you live in Valais, this is what you do: if there's fresh snow, you go snowshoeing or snowhiking. You don't even need any signposted trails for this. You can also do it on hiking trails. No snow, the sun is shining? Then put on your hiking boots and go for another leisurely hike on the south side of the Rhone Valley.<\/p>\n<h3>The south side of the Rhone Valley<\/h3>\n<p>Always remember that Riederalp and Bettmeralp are on the south side of the Rhone Valley. That means: there's sun all day long. So it's always a touch warmer and therefore the mountain world invites you to exercise. If you like hiking, walk along the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bergwelten.com\/t\/w\/26084\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">south ramp<\/a>. And from all the Alps in the Aletsch Arena, you can hike down to the valley on scenic routes and take the mountain railway back.<\/p>\n<h3>Cosy afternoons during the cold season<\/h3>\n<p>If you live here, you go home afterwards and make yourself comfortable. Enjoy a coffee, schnapps or a good cup of tea in peace and quiet. Watch the snow drift by or gaze at the Alps at sunset. Enjoy a cosy read, sew, get a board game or a puzzle out of the cupboard, light the fire, make preparations for dinner together. Maybe wrap up warm and enjoy a cheese fondue on the balcony. Fire up the barbecue with a few sausages and have a chat outside in the fresh air over a mulled wine. Finally take a hot bath with a glass of sparkling wine. Just do something different.<\/p>\n<p>Build yourself a cosy nest in a holiday flat. Enjoy a fog-free time with a great view. Only travelling for a long weekend? No problem.
