The picture speaks volumes about the heat record in June 2025.<\/p>\n<p>Mountain lakes are therefore ideal for cooling down. There are three larger ones in the Aletsch Arena, as well as some very small ones. It's also great that you can hike from lake to lake in the Aletsch region.<\/p>\n<h3>3-lake hike: swimming lake, holiday resort and glacier lake<\/h3>\n<p>This <a href=\"https:\/\/www.aletscharena.ch\/en\/planning-booking\/tour\/big-three-lakes-hike-bettmersee-blausee-maerjelensee\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">hike<\/a> is challenging, as it takes over six hours. Basically, you walk from the Bettmeralp mountain station to Bettmersee, which invites you to take a dip. The route then continues to the Blausee resort and from there towards Roti Chumma. From there, you can already read about the <a href=\"https:\/\/ferienchalet-wallis.ch\/en\/wanderung-zum-maerjelensee-im-aletschgebiet\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">hike to Lake M\u00e4rjelen<\/a>, the glacial lake on the Aletsch. The difference between the two hikes is that we descended from Viewpoint Bettmerhorn, which shortens the total distance by 2 hours. The route along the Aletsch Glacier remains the same, but you only walk past the M\u00e4rjelensee instead of three lakes.<\/p>\n<h3>More water points in the Aletsch Arena<\/h3>\n<p>Other small waterholes are the Schonboden See and the Laxerputz. The former is located near the <a href=\"https:\/\/ferienchalet-wallis.ch\/en\/huettenerlebnisse-in-der-aletsch-arena\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">restaurant B\u00e4ttmerhitta<\/a> and the Laxerputz fishing lake is located on the <a href=\"https:\/\/ferienchalet-wallis.ch\/en\/schneeschuhtour-betten-dorf-in-richtung-domo-bettmeralp\/\">toboggan run<\/a>, which in summer also offers wonderful views with beautiful mountain huts, is a great place to refresh your feet. Another opportunity to do something for tired feet in the heat is at the <a href=\"https:\/\/ferienchalet-wallis.ch\/en\/neue-kneippanlage-auf-der-riederalp\/\">Kneipp facility on the Riederalp<\/a>. Enjoy your hiking holiday and try out the tips for cooling off on the Aletsch Glacier.
