Many people also take a long weekend to unwind. Just hanging around? Isn't that a bit boring? Instead, get up early and go for a proper hike in the Aletsch Arena. Instead of taking selfies, photograph the alpenglow and breathe in the fresh air.<\/p>\n<h3>The wild Aletsch Forest<\/h3>\n<p>The Aletsch Forest boasts ancient Swiss stone pines and pristine nature. \"Primeval\" is perhaps the best word to describe it. Chamois are a common sight if you hike quietly and peacefully. Chatting is reserved for the end of the hike, as you'll realize after this encounter. Now's the time to grab your camera and capture the larch trees and alpine flowers against the backdrop of the Aletsch Glacier. You'll truly be swept away by the natural beauty at Lake M\u00e4rjelen. The name immediately evokes the image of a fairytale lake, even though that's not its intended meaning. The hike culminates in a breathtakingly beautiful rest at the Gletscherstube mountain hut.<\/p>\n<h3>Bettmerhorn and Eggishorn with panoramic views<\/h3>\n<p>Take the gondola up for magnificent views! Enjoy panoramic vistas of majestic Alps like the Mischabel massif and the Weisshorn. With a telephoto lens, you can even add the Matterhorn to the mix. Turn around 180 degrees and you'll have a view of the Aletsch Glacier with the Geisshorn, Aletschhorn, and Olmenhorn peaks, and depending on your location, you might even see as far as Konkordiaplatz. Hike towards Riederfurka and be sure to take a photo of Villa Cassel with the Riederhorn in the background. End your day at Villa Cassel with homemade cake from the Pro Natura Aletsch Center, which has its offices there.<\/p>\n<p>And then you can relax and recover from the day's experiences in a cozy accommodation with raclette and a well-chilled Fendant wine, and talk about the beauty of the mountains. Do you absolutely have to take one more photo?
