At the end of the day, one feels a sense of happiness\u2014satisfaction with the day\u2019s achievements and a pleasant, soothing weariness. This might involve a leisurely walk along the *Suonen* (historic irrigation channels) or a challenging trek across steep rocky slopes. Speaking of steep terrain: it can also boost self-confidence, as one views a difficult section as a challenge\u2014and successfully masters it nonetheless.<\/p>\n<h3>Hike for families<\/h3>\n<p>Here is what I mean by that: for instance, <a href=\"https:\/\/ferienchalet-wallis.ch\/en\/suonenweg-fiescher-wyssa\/\">a trail along an irrigation channel<\/a>, where there are generally no steep sections to tackle. Children love water, so walking alongside it is fun for them, too. Or a trail that offers entertainment for children along the way\u2014like a <a href=\"https:\/\/ferienchalet-wallis.ch\/en\/foxtrail-am-aletschgletscher\/\">\"Foxtrail\"<\/a>. You can build anticipation by making the destination appealing\u2014for example, by highlighting the <a href=\"https:\/\/ferienchalet-wallis.ch\/en\/kindererlebnis-mit-holzkugelbahn\/\">wooden marble runs<\/a>. You found them at Riederfurka, Bettmerhitta, Bettmerhorn and Moosfluh.<\/p>\n<h3>Challenging hikes of up to 5 hours<\/h3>\n<p>Most people define \"challenging\" as a difficult or long route. For me personally, it means taking the physical aspect into account: <a href=\"https:\/\/ferienchalet-wallis.ch\/en\/die-wandersaison-am-aletsch-beginnt-am-08-06-24\/\">5 hours<\/a> are more than enough. On some days, this means offering something to the mind and the eyes\u2014such as a <a href=\"https:\/\/ferienchalet-wallis.ch\/en\/wanderung-zum-maerjelensee-im-aletschgebiet\/\">phenomenal view<\/a> or a <a href=\"https:\/\/ferienchalet-wallis.ch\/en\/wanderung-knebelbruecke-auf-der-riederalp\/\">spectacular trail<\/a>. Mind over matter!!<\/p>\n<h3>Sunday Hikes<\/h3>\n<p>Sunday hikes are of this nature: you want <a href=\"https:\/\/ferienchalet-wallis.ch\/en\/rundwanderung-richtung-chatzulecher\/\">some exercise<\/a>, but at a leisurely pace, please. Ideally with a place to stop for <a href=\"https:\/\/ferienchalet-wallis.ch\/en\/sonntagswanderung-auf-der-riederalp\/\">refreshments along the way<\/a>Under no circumstances should you be out for hours on end; the goal is for both <a href=\"https:\/\/ferienchalet-wallis.ch\/en\/sommerferien-am-bergsee\/\">the child and the dog<\/a> to enjoy the experience. On hikes\u2014or rather, extended walks\u2014like these, the focus is more on socializing or simply enjoying the moment.<\/p>\n<p>Autumn is approaching. It is time to pay another visit to the Aletsch Glacier and the Aletsch Forest.<\/p>\n<p><em>O Wandern, Wandern, meine Lust, O Wandern!\u00a0<\/em><em>Lasst mich in Frieden weiter ziehn und wandern.<\/em><br \/>\n<em>(Auszug aus der 4.
