Chüestall restaurant on the Riederalp
The winter season is coming to an end, but the desire for good food remains. And, of course, for cosy breaks in a rustic ambience with the feeling of being at home in the Alps. The Restaurant Chüestall on the Riederalp, located at a crossroads of pistes and winter hiking trails, is perfectly equipped for this.
The cowshed that never was one
No cow can rest here! This is how the Chüestall restaurant advertises itself on its website and makes it clear right away: there was never a cowshed. It was planned, built and then discarded. After completion, the hut stands empty until the day someone has the courage to turn it into a truly rustic restaurant with today's standards.
Offers from the restaurant
To have a comparison with other alpine huts with a menu, I had another cholera. And I was not disappointed. The leek tart with apples, potatoes and raclette cheese, this time in the form of a small round cake, tasted excellent and was accompanied by a good portion of mixed salad.
The restaurant is furnished with lots of wood in Alpine style and has a sunny terrace. When we were there in February, both the hut and the terrace were full of people.
In addition to bed and breakfast, the Chüestall also offers food at the fondue barrel as an event. I'm telling you, go there. If not now, then in summer. I have to go again. Try the sweet cake they offer. What else?!
